EarnSMS

Terms

Last updated 10 October 2026

These short terms apply when you take part as an EarnSMS tester.

Taking part

  • Taking part is voluntary. You can stop at any time.
  • You must be at least 18 and use a phone number and SIM you are allowed to use.
  • Only testers registered by us can sign in. One account per person.

How it works

Keep the app installed, signed in and allowed to run in the background. We send test messages to your number; you do not need to reply to them or act on them. We do not promise a number of tests: how many you receive depends on demand, your operator and your country.

Earnings and payouts

  • You earn the amount shown in the app for each test message that genuinely arrives on your registered phone. Rates and bonuses can change; the app shows the current ones.
  • Payouts are made through Upwork. Once your balance reaches the payout minimum (currently $20; the Home screen of the app always shows the current minimum), you can ask for a payout. You need your own Upwork account to receive it, and Upwork may charge its own fees, which are deducted by Upwork and not by us.
  • You are responsible for any taxes on what you earn.

Fair use

Do not use emulators, forward or fake messages, modify the app, run several accounts, or let someone else use your account. Earnings from such use are not paid.

Costs

Receiving SMS is usually free, but mobile data and roaming charges from your operator are yours.

Updates

The app is distributed directly and updates itself inside the app. Older versions may stop receiving tests after a deadline the app tells you about.

Ending participation

You can stop at any time by logging out or uninstalling the app, and ask us to delete your account. We may pause or end your participation, for example if these terms are broken or the programme changes. If your balance has reached the payout minimum when participation ends, we pay it out, unless it was earned in breach of these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. We change the date at the top when we do. Questions? Ask in our support chat.
